Honored teammates are individuals who have battled or are battling a blood cancer. Team In Training participants train and race in honor of these extraordinary people. My honorees serve as an inspiration to keep me motivated both on those long training runs and during the event itself. Knowing what these people and their families have endured makes the sweat, frustration, aches and pains of training and racing with TNT worthwhile. As a TNT participant I have been provided with a bracelet on which I have written Michael and Amanda's names. I will wear this bracelet throughout the training period. As the miles get longer and longer, I can look down at my wrist and think of the people who fought so valiantly. With their help, I can find deep within myself the wherewithal to finish my goal, whether it is a 10-mile training run or a 26.2 mile race. The links below will take you to the biographies of my honored teammates. Please read them, and I hope they bring you inspiration as they have me. Be well. |
