Welcome, Friends and Family!

Think of some place that's 26 miles from your driveway.  Now imagine putting on
your sneakers and running there  -- no stops at Starbuck's, no hitchhiking, and no
naps in the middle.

That's what I'm going to do to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma
Society on May 31st in San Diego, California.

Life's tough right now.  I can't add any more stress even if I try.  But there's an
angel carrying me through training, on days when I wake up 95% dead, or in the
middle of a long run when everything hurts, or even in the beginning when my old,
asthmatic lungs want to shrivel up on the curb and watch the world go by.
Her
name is Amanda.  She's already helped me more times than I can count, and she
will be there when I finish my next big challenge.  You can meet her, too, on my
Honored Teammates page.

I'm c
ompleting this race as a member of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's
Team in Training (TNT).  The Society's mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma,
Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life of patients and
their families.  I have dedicated myself to this cause, not only by finishing this
marathon, but by raising
$8,000.  Watch:

As many of you know, this is my second race with TNT.  My first, last May, was the
Long Branch Half Marathon which I finished - and I finished well considering my
injuries.  Even more significantly, I raised over $4,000 for a cure!  This year I am
running stronger and smarter, going twice the distance -- and hoping to raise twice
the money.

I am r
unning this event in honor of all individuals who are battling blood cancers,
and especially in memory of
Michael Rossman and Amanda Osterby, my
personal honorees. They're waiting to meet you on my Honorees page.  Blood
cancer patients are the real heroes on our team, and we need your support to
cross the ultimate finish line - a cure!

Please take a few minutes and look around my web site.  Remember - your
contribution is
tax deductible, and any amount will bring the Society one step
closer to finding a cure.  You can donate using your credit card at my web site at
the link above.  I am encouraging online donations whenever possible out of
respect for our environment;
online donations are fast, secure and easy.

Thank you for your support and encouragement.  With your assistance, and with a
whole lot of divine help, I will finish this race!  And see that big purple box over
there?  Let's fill it up!

Warmly,
Wendy

If you  think I look delirious, it's because I am.
I'm running for a

It's safe AND easy!  Everybody's doing it!  Come on, it's cool!  I
